Dear Customer:

We would like to thank you for allowing Shoreline Awning and Trim the opportunity to estimate your work, and we would urge you to take a moment and read this information letter so that you may make an educated decision when it comes time to choose an awning company to do business with.

Frame Fabrication Steel:
There is fence pipe and proper awning tube called Gatorshield. Shoreline uses Gatorshield. Some companies place two tack welds at each junction and consider this welded, or space supports wider than recommended, thus sacrificing the strength of the frame. They finish the frame with the cheapest paint and primer they can find. Shoreline welds every junction solid to prevent moisture from deteriorating the frame from the inside out. Shoreline uses cold galvanized primer and high-grade paint to deter rust as long as possible.

Frame Fabrication Aluminum:
Aluminum: There are three different wall thicknesses, 1/8", 1/10", and 1/16" wall. Shoreline uses 1/8" wall, the heaviest. Shoreline has no less than three welds per member.

**Please Note: Shoreline's frame fabrications are based on engineered drawings.**

Cover Fabrication:
There are many ways to fabricate a sewn cover. Most companies sew each patterned piece one time. Shoreline sews each patterned piece, and then topstitches it again. What this does is gives the seam superior strength and takes the stress off the main seam. Also, please note, on all vinyl covers it is Shoreline' s policy to have all main roof panel seams heat sealed, not sewn.

Fabrics:
Fabrics come in factory firsts, seconds, and thirds. What does this mean? This means that seconds and thirds may have finished flaws and may have missed certain U.V. inhibitors, etc. Materials may vary in cost per yard, as much as $8.00. Shoreline uses only factory firsts, unless the customer requests seconds.

Threads:
Threads come in many different weights and colors. Weights may be referred to as #69, #92, #125, and #138, #69 being light and #138 being heavy. Colored threads tend to deteriorate much quicker than white thread. There is also a product called Tenera thread made by Gortex. This product is guaranteed to outlast the fabric that it is sewn in; also the colored thread holds its color. Shoreline uses # 138 thread and offers a Tenera thread option price on every job.

We would like to say that Shoreline is committed to quality workmanship and customer service. We hope that you find this information helpful.

Sincerely,
Stephen T. Hancock, President
